SINGLE-SEX SCHOOLS

Most schools in the USA are single-sex schools, which means that boys or girls are not mixed, I’m not in favour of this policy.

In my opinion single-sex schools are bad for several reasons. Firstly, you don’t relate to people of the opposite sex and it so also interesting to know their opinions, because in most cases they are very different from hours. Secondly, If studying in a single-sex school, can be just boring because when teenagers start high school they love the relationships with everyone. Finally, all the people like meeting friends of the opposite sex and in single-sex schools, this is not possible.

So all in all, I think that it isn’t a good thing to go to study in a single-sex school, and for that reason I think there should be less single-sex schools in the USA.

Adele's biography

Adele was born in Tottenham (England), on 5th May 1988. In 1992 she began to sing. Nine years later, Adele and her mother, who lived in north London, moved to the South London. At the age of 16, she wrote her first record, Hometown Glory. In May 2006, Adele’s graduated from the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology. One year later, in October 2007 she released her breakthrough song, “Hometown Glory”. On 14^th January 2008 she released her second single “Chasing Pavements”. From 2008 to 2009 she toured with her world tour “An evening with Adele”. One year later Adele received a Grammy nomination for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for “Hometown Glory”. She has published 2 albums so far.

Since 2008, she has lived in Notting Hill (London).

Clean our lake

I’m writing this letter because I was at the lake with my family two days ago and the amount of glass bottles and cigarettes which we found there was unbelievable. There was unbelievable. This photo shows the glass bottles and other rubbish which we found.

I think there are one or two reasons for this. Firstly, people aren’t responsible enough so perhaps we need more containers or bins near the lake, or policemen who patrol around the lake. Secondly, people throw away all think we need people who control this.

We must do something about this situation. Maybe there isn’t much rubbish in other places, or there is. I don’t know, but we must definitely do something here if we want a cleaner, more attractive lake and city, so if we get this, we can attract more tourists.

Breaking dawn

I’d like to recommend a film which I watched last month, called Breaking Dawn. The author of the film is Stephanie Meyer.

The film is a love story between the main characters, Bella and Edward.

Bella is a girl and she moves to a little town and goes to live in her father’s house.
Edward is the son of a big vampire family, in the town of Edward and Bella it always rains.

The things I liked most about de film were the characters and their feelings. Some of the scenes are strong because sometimes the vampires ant the werewolves are fighting, but the style is vey nice. Bella, is one of the main characters and she narrates the story.

All in all, I really liked the film, and though it has got an intriguing ending, I wouldn’t change it.
It’s very easy to understand it, and it’s a film for all publics.

MY BEST FRIEND

Xènia is my best friend. She goes to school with me. She lives in a big house near the school, in her house ara a big garden and a small parking. We don't go to the same class, but we always go together when the classes finish.

Xènia is fourteen years old. She is tall and thin, and she has got dark hair. She has got round brown eyes, and her hair is very dark. The positive things about her are: she is cheerful and friendly, although she can also be serious sometimes and hardly ever she worries too much about problems.

Xènia is happiest when she plays handball, she loves it!
She like meeting friends and when she does it, she always goes out with them.
In Girona there are cinemas and when it is cold, we often go there.
And in Banyoles, our town, there is a lake and in summer we stay all the time there.

And she is my best friend!!!

A DAY IN A LIVE OF MY GRANDMOTHER

My grandmother is 65 years old, she doesn’t work in a company or in a factory, but she works a lot at home.

Every day she gets up at seven o’clock and goes for a walk around the lake with her friends.
At eight o’clock she has a shower and half an hour later she has breakfast.
Later, at nine o’clock, she goes to my uncle’s house to help my aunt with her three children. At twelve o’clock she always goes back home and makes lunch for all the family. At three o’clock she washes the dishes, and at half past five she cleans the house. Sometimes, when she has time, at seven o’clock she watches TV, or reads a book. At eight o’clock she always prepares dinner for my grandfather. When they finish dinner, she goes to the living room and she reads an watches TV again. When she is tired, she goes to bed, usually at ten or eleven o’clock, she nevers goes to bed later than eleven o’clock.

And this is the day of my grandmother, it’s her routine.
